The 13th NAF Awards Dinner took place on Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in WashingtonD.C. The annual dinner is the premier Dutch-American event in our nation's capital, celebrating Dutch-American heritage and friendship. This year's dinner honored four individuals who have made outstanding contributions to strengthening the bonds of commerce, culture and education between the United States and the Netherlands. The awards were conferred on the following: The Ambassador C. Howard Wilkins Jr. Award on Brenda C. Barnes, Chairman & CEO, Sara Lee Corporation, the Ambassador J. William Middendorf II Award on Steve Van Andel, Chairman, Amway and Doug DeVos, President, Amway, and the Ambassador K. Terry Dornbush Award on Dr. Bert W.M. Twaalfhoven, Founder EFER [European Fund for Entrepreneurial Research] and Former President, Indivers B.V.
This black tie event was chaired by William Tucker.
